What is Swing For A Soldier?

Swing For A Soldier is more than just Washington’s premier charity golf tournament—it’s a day of purpose, connection, and support for our nation’s heroes. This sold-out event welcomes over 400 golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and vendors for a day of golf, followed by an evening reception, awards dinner, live and silent auctions, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

Proceeds from this event directly benefit the Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation, founded by Leslie Mayne in memory of her son, U.S. Army PFC Kyle Farr, who died by suicide after returning from combat. Since 2011, the Foundation has worked tirelessly to provide life-saving mental health resources to veterans, first responders, and active-duty military members facing trauma and post-traumatic stress.

Funds raised support vital programs such as Warrior PATHH—the nation’s first non-clinical program designed to cultivate post-traumatic growth. This transformative, immersive program empowers combat veterans and first responders to turn struggle into strength and move forward with purpose.
